The Freeport Economic Development Corporation's primary services support current and new businesses in the following areas:
• Business Expansion and Retention, including increasing the awareness of new businesses,
facilitating Town approval processes for expansion, resolving issues, working with Freeport
Merchants Association to market Freeport and its businesses, providing business expansion
opportunities, assisting with funding options, and identifying available space
• Business Recruitment, including site location, data provision collection, site visit coordination,
and project approval process assistance
• Advocacy with development, zoning, and code enforcement issues
• Introductions to community leaders and organizations who can provide additional insight and
assistance
• Coordinate with a number of other agencies in Maine to provide small business assistance such
as business plan development, workforce development, loans, and other forms of financial
assistance
• Expansion of the image/brand of Freeport and its implementation with FEDC partners
• Lead a burgeoning Creative/Innovative Economy movement
